Please note that even if a country is a member of the 1949 Geneva Convention, they may not necessarily issue IDPs in that specific format.
Additionally, even if a country does not issue IDPs in the 1949 Geneva Convention format, you may still be permitted to drive in Japan by attaching an official Japanese translation to that country's domestic driver's license (e.g., Switzerland, Germany, France, Belgium, Monaco, and Taiwan).
